8. Data retention, account cancellation and permanent deletion

If you are a member, you have the option to conceal your dating profile at any given time, which will remove it from public view in relation to the Services. You can do so by clicking on the “Deactivate and hide my dating profile from all members (this will cancel any paid subscription)” option in the “Profile” page.

You also have the ability to permanently eliminate your account and profile whenever you desire, as explained below.

While you remain a Member or Subscriber (meaning your profile has not been deleted by either yourself or us), it is your responsibility to either cancel your account or request us to do permanently delete it when you no longer wish to utilise the Services. If we are unable to reach you through the email address you have provided, we reserve the right to permanently delete your account without any further notice. Furthermore, if you do not log into your profile for a period of 7 years, we will assume that you no longer wish to use the service and it will be permanently deleted.

Please be aware that when you cancel your account, we will retain your personal data (including any third-party data you provide) until you request to permanently delete it. It will be stored in our archives (including any uploaded photographs) for a duration of 3 years from the cancellation date, after which it will be permanently erased.

Personal correspondence sent through the service will be archived for 6 months and then erased. Correspondence or member support enquiries sent through the member support system will be kept for 5 years from the date the support thread is closed.

If your profile is deleted due to a violation of our Terms, we may keep some or all of your personal data for up to 10 years to protect other members, prevent fraud, and assist law enforcement authorities if necessary.

How do I cancel my account?

Please navigate to your profile page on your account and locate the 'Cancel My Account' button at the bottom of the page.

To cancel the automatic renewal of your subscription, go to your phone's settings, find the "Subscriptions" option, select the subscription you wish to cancel, and confirm. Please do this at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid any charges. Note that canceling automatic renewal may affect your subscriber benefits.

How do I permanently delete my account?

Should you wish to permanently delete your account with YMT and erase it from the archives, you need to email us at [email protected] from the email address you used upon registration and request the permanent deletion of your account.

9. No Spam policy

We will not send you spam emails.

During your membership or subscription, you will receive important emails related to our services, as well as emails from other members through the service. If you wish to stop receiving all service emails from us, you will need to delete your profile.

Rest assured that we will never provide, sell, or rent your email address to any third party without your explicit consent.

We offer a convenient and efficient way for members to sign up or sign in using their social network accounts, such as Google and Facebook. This is specifically designed to expedite the joining process, and no content will be shared on your social network account or timeline.

11. Security

YMT is dedicated to safeguarding the confidentiality and integrity of your personal information. Despite our best efforts to implement robust security measures, it is important to acknowledge that no security system is completely impervious.

To ensure the protection of your data, we have implemented various precautionary measures. For instance, we store the personal information you provide on computer systems that have restricted access and are located in secure facilities. Additionally, we ensure that our third-party data centre vendors adhere to stringent security protocols.

Furthermore, we employ encryption techniques, such as Transport Layer Security (TLS), to safeguard your data during its transmission over the internet. In the unlikely event of a security breach, we are legally obligated to promptly notify the relevant authorities within 72 hours. We will make every effort to swiftly address and resolve the issue. However, it is important to note that we cannot assume responsibility for any loss or compromise of member details resulting from a security breach.

12. Your rights

You are entitled to object to the utilisation of your personal information by us, or request the deletion, removal, or cessation of its use if there is no longer a necessity for us to retain it. This is commonly referred to as your right to be forgotten.

As per our data retention and deletion clause mentioned above, your data will typically be erased in accordance with the specified timeframes. However, if you wish for us to delete it prior to the normal schedule, please reach out to our support team. It is important to note that if you have violated our Terms, we reserve the right to retain and process your data based on legitimate interest. This is done to aid us in safeguarding other members by assisting in the prevention and detection of fraudulent and illegal activities.

You have the ability to access, modify, or delete your personal data by editing your profile.
